Scientists for Labour and COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, a huge amount of scientific literature is produced and disseminated on a daily basis. While this shows the great effort being poured into bringing the current crisis to an end, it makes it incredibly difficult for politicians as well as the general public to stay up to date with developments. This issue is compounded by the often inaccessible nature of scientific writing.

In order to aid Labour politicians in their ability to stay up to date with this rapidly changing landscape, SfL have, since the first week of UK lockdown, been producing daily briefing documents as well as longer reports focused on specific areas of the science. The aim of the daily reports is to summarise the developments in the literature from the previous day, while the longer reports are deeper dives into more specific topics.

If you have a scientific background, support the aims of the Labour party, and wish to join our team of volunteers in producing these documents please email; chair@sfl.org.uk.
